About Me

I am a full stack engineer (over 11 years now, wow) living in the UK, I travel quite frequently around the country working as a contract developer, I have worked in manufacturing, retail, investment banking and startups.

I help companies to solve problems, by building awesome software solutions to their specifications, sometimes they don’t have specifications, so I help with that too.

The technology I tend to work with the most every day is: ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Javascript (ES5/6), HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB & Jenkins (both CI use and developing Java plugins for it).

I have experience in a lot more technology but I try to keep my core skill set above in heavy use, so I can perfect my craft and deliver high quality solutions.

I also have a lot of experience in Linux server management and have no issues setting up infrastructure for any type of solution required via CLI or GUI, I am experienced in Amazon Web Services (AWS), DigitalOcean & Cloud Foundry to name but a few.

I enjoy teaching people about software development too, quite regularly I am asked to up-skill an existing employee or start with a student from scratch.

I really like to show them the difference between good and bad code, and how if we take the time to break problems down into tiny steps, we can write cleaner code and hopefully with the use of TDD, write less code and have fewer bugs.

When I am not working, I like to do stuff with my wife and 2 children, I like to take them swimming, to the cinema (even though I usually fall asleep), to soft play areas and walks around big old lakes! I am also very interested in DIY and woodworking and watch tons of Youtube on the subjects, probably too much sometimes, I can quit whenever I want to though (no, really I can).

Not sure you want to read too much more about me, I’m pretty basic in all fairness. If you’re interested in working with me, please get in touch via my website, or find me on LinkedIn, I am always open to any opportunity that comes my way.

Hope to speak to you soon!
